Bashamichi Jubankan

Bashamichi Jyubankan is a historic and highly-rated traditional coffee shop (kissaten) in Yokohama, recognized as a Tabelog Top 100 Cafe in 2021 and 2022. Established in 1967, it's housed in a striking red-brick Western-style building, re-created with Meiji-era inspiration, symbolizing Yokohama's history and culture. The interior features an elegant and classical atmosphere with high ceilings and beautiful stained-glass windows, offering a comfortable space to relax. The first-floor cafe serves original coffee, cakes, and Western confections, with an adjoining shop selling famous "biscuits" (bisukauto) and bread. While the cafe does not accept reservations and can have a wait, its French restaurant (3rd floor), bar (2nd floor), and banquet halls (4th and 5th floors) do. The menu also includes substantial dishes like Croque Monsieur and naval curry. The entire establishment is non-smoking.
